With our inaugural issue of WN under our belts and an apparent success, we can forge our way into the future! In this second edition, we're bringing back several articles that we hope will become regular features. Dear WN, an advice column for literary characters, Fforde Ffan Poetry and Fforde Ffan Stories are returning. And we're adding a new feature called, The Nextian Songbook, a compendium of twisted song parodies with a Nextian theme. (Just like you've seen on the Fforum). If you have any ideas for articles you'd like to see, or if you'd like to contribute, simply drop us a line at: Jasper just wrapped up a 15 city US book signing tour to promote the American debut of Lost in a Good Book. and the paperback launch of The Eyre Affair. Several Fforde Fforum veterans flocked to his readings. WN co-Editor and Webdesigner All-American-Cutie was lucky enough to catch up with him in Washington, D.C. and staunch Fforumite Magda met him in Dayton, Ohio...driving all the way from Ann Arbor, Michigan just to see Jasper and present him with a hand-made stuffed dodo that he has named "Alan". Read more about All American Cutie's Experience. Check out Magda's Marvelous Adventure. Jasper recently spoke at the Swindon Festival of Literature in Thursday's hometown. Naomi, aka Swindonian and Gill Neal, aka Lycanthra Pod, were lucky enough to be in attendance. Gill sent us a recap of the evening. Lycanthra Pod's Swindon Festival of Literature Report Back in the UK, proof copies of The Well of Lost Plots, the latest Thursday Next installment, have been released. By all reports of those who have read it and have been sworn to secrecy against giving details, it is sure to be yet another hit! Publisher, Hodder and Stoughton has annouced that WOLP will be realeased (in the UK) on July 7th this year. Jasper was kind enough to send us a Sneak Preview of the new UK and Australian book jackets for WOLP. Perhaps you noticed our two new Flash intro movies...starring the beautiful and talented, Pickwick. If you have pop-up blocking software, or you came in directly through the new website, you might have bypassed her little-screen debuts. In any case, you can see her starring in Pickwick's Moving Day and Welcome to the Ffan Club. Remember, silence is golden. No talking during the film. And for GSD's sake, turn off your cell phone ringers! If you haven't noticed already, The Jasper Fforde Ffan Club now has its own domain! You can find us at: www.JasperFfordeFfanClub.com (don't forget the extra "F's for Ffun!") Please be sure to update your bookmarks. We will be discontinuing use of the Yahoo/Geocities PickwickPapers2003 addresses after this issue. Thanks! ![]() * - (for a given value of truth) In last month's WN, you were treated to the first part of an interview with our favorite author, Jasper Fforde. He took time out of his busy life of writing, playing on his website (and of course flying his 1937 DeHavilland biplane over Wales) to answer questions posed to him by members of the Fforde Fforum. Reader response to Part 1 was phenomenal and many Fforumites were amazed to see that Mr. Fforde had, indeed, answered their questions. How exciting! So, did he answer your question in Part 2?
